COVID ‘Experts’ Decided to Torment Us for Our Own Good … Is That All Right?

Striker Summary: America’s recent experience with government-science tyranny during the COVID pandemic lockdowns — fueled by health experts like professing “Christian” Francis Collins and Dr. Anthony Fauci —  confirms this kind of state control must never again be tolerated. The nation’s founders rebelled against this very kind of oppression.

Physician-scientist Francis S. Collins [born 1950] served under three presidents as the director of the National Institutes of Health [NIH] from August 17, 2009 to December 19, 2021. An agnostic in graduate school, Dr. Collins converted to Christ and self-defines today as a “serious Christian.”

It was in the latter context that we were most interested in the bi-partisan report by the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Specifically, what roles did Dr. Fauci and Dr. Collins play in squashing scientific discourse during the pandemic? These are the Key Takeaways of the committee:

  • Former NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci and Former NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins were directly involved in the drafting, publication, and public promotion of Proximal Origin – a paper written to suppress the COVID-19 lab-leak hypothesis.
  • There was a coordinated effort between public health officials in the United States government and expert scientists to craft a narrative that would advance the zoonotic origin of COVID-19 in order to protect the Chinese government from any potential criticism and repercussions.
  • The conclusions drawn by the co-authors of Proximal Origin rest on insufficient evidence, draw inaccurate assumptions and have never been proven or verified by the wider scientific community.
  • Dr. Kristian Andersen confirmed the U.S.-funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology fell below recommended bio-safety markers.
  • Scientific integrity was abandoned by Dr. Fauci, Dr. Collins, and the co-authors of Proximal Origin in favor of political expediency. Suppressing a legitimate scientific theory to advance the preferred narrative of senior government officials is egregious and must be fully investigated.
  • There is still more work to be done to hold public health officials accountable for their actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Select Subcommittee emphasizes its outstanding request for transcribed interviews and documents from Dr. Fauci and Dr. Collins.1

We watched with interest Dr. Collins explain his rationale for his part in crippling the U.S. economy, closing public schools [of which he admits “kids may never quite recover”], ruining family businesses built over generations, banning travel nationally and internationally, coming up with contrived mask gimmicks, 6 ft. distancing [made up out of thin air by Dr. Fauci], compulsory employee vaccinations, forced military jabs, and letting loved ones die all alone in sterile hospitals – all executed by design through tainted, shoddy, and financially politicized ‘science’.

“As a guy living inside the Beltway feeling a sense of crisis,” Dr. Collins asserted on X, “trying to decide what to do in some situation room in the White House with people who had data that was incomplete – we weren’t really thinking about what that would mean to Wilk and his family in Minnesota, a thousand miles away from where the virus was hitting so hard. We weren’t really considering the consequences in communities that were not New York City or some other big city.

“You attach zero value to whether this actually totally disrupts people’s lives, ruins the economy, and has many kids kept out of school in a way that they never quite recover from. So, yeah, ‘collateral damage’. This is a public health mindset and I think a lot of us involved in trying to make those recommendations had that mindset and that was really unfortunate. It’s another mistake we made.” twitter.com/i/status/1740212697348870241

In hindsight, we may deduce that the Covid-19 pandemic boiled down to a concentration of power in the hands of a few socially inept federal bureaucrats!

Add to this disgraceful duo of mindless medics, the fascist edicts and government diktats by Democrat, Blue State governors such as Newsom [CA], Whitmer [MI], Cuomo [NY], Murphy [NJ], and Mills [ME], and one arrives at the apparent pinnacle of the titillatingly seductive pleasure of using power to control people.

Will a 1-minute disclaimer of “mistakes” do when taking into account that 7 out of 10 Big Pharma companies spent more on sales and marketing during COVID than on research and development, compounded by Big Tech’s collusion with Big Government, and Fauci’s deception and lying before Congress?2

U.S. Senator Rand Paul doesn’t think so. Last November, before the Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship, he said, “As we now know – thanks to the release of the Twitter Files following Elon Musk’s purchase of the company- the mainstream media and Big Tech did not act alone.

In fact, many of their efforts to censor speech about the lab leak theory, lockdowns, masks, vaccines, school closures, and a host of pandemic-related topics were directed by the FBI and other intelligence agencies. In other words, the First Amendment was thrown out the window.

In addition to the fact that [Fauci] was the highest-paid employee of the federal government, his own net worth is estimated to have doubled to more than $12.5 million during the pandemic. This is an insult to the American taxpayer and the American ideal. We should not allow this kind of obvious corruption

Anthony Fauci – who wielded tremendous power over many decades – funded dangerous research, lied to Congress and the American people, flip-flopped on many of his prognostications, issued edicts that defied science and attacked and smeared his scientific critics.

His reprehensible behavior reminded me of nothing so much as C.S. Lewis’s description of the moral busybody: ‘Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. … [T]hose who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.’”

We the American people must not allow bureaucratic ‘experts’ to endanger our lives, lie to us, or curtail our constitutional rights. Never again.”3

In August 2021, a seemingly power-drunk Dr. Fauci crowed, “I’m sorry, I know people must like to have their individual freedom … but I think that we’re in such a serious situation now that under certain circumstances, mandates should be done.”

Fauci’s belief that mandates are more important than individual freedom, puts him squarely in the dissentious category the American Founders rebelled against: “A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act that may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”

On receiving the 2021 Humanist of the Year award, Fauci said, “I am not a regular church-attender. I have evolved into less a Roman Catholic religion person to someone who tries to keep a degree of spirituality about them. I look upon myself as a humanist. I have faith in the goodness of mankind.”4

All but Biblical, Fauci’s so-called ‘degree of spirituality’ is a tenet of religious secularism [and a failproof way to destruction in the life to come]. Steeped in the Judeo-Christian heritage and Biblically based theology, believing that man is born a sinner and in need of a Savior, the American Founders established a system of checks and balances to separate powers within a constitutional framework.

Historian William Federer notes that through nearly 6,000 years of recorded human history, “power, like gravity, seems to inevitably concentrate into the hands of one individual, sometimes called Pharoah, caesar, czar, kaiser, king, caliph, emperor, monarch, sultan, president or communist dictator … No matter what the autocratic leader’s particular title is, the default setting for human government throughout history has been monarchy.”5

The 13 original colonies of early America rebelled against England’s COVID-type of concentrated government power to subdue the colonists. The resulting War of American Independence from tyrannical oppression lasted 8 years and was won in 1783.6

America’s historically rare experiment with a democratic Republic caused Elizabeth Willing Powel [1743-1830] to raise on September 18, 1787, the last day of the convention, the now famous question, “Well, Doctor, what have we got – a Republic or a Monarchy?” Dr. Benjamin Franklin’s equally famous answer is still pertinent today: “A republic … if you can keep it.”

Thankfully, Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to rise.
