“No human biologist now argues that violence is in our genes . . . “ by Richard Overy, writing June 23 in The Telegraph about “Why it’s too late to stop World War 3.*

Human biologists are no match for the Eternal One speaking through Jeremiah:

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?”   Jeremiah 17:9

There is a quaint little story in the Book of Genesis about our ancestral parents, Adam and Eve, and the truth about how violence entered our genes.  As the story goes, our loving Creator situated them in paradise telling them there was one rule to be obeyed. Only one rule!

He told them: “You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.”    Genesis 3:3

Most of us know how this turned out!

Satan came to Eve questioning God’s word, urging Eve to distrust God, encouraging her to eat and to share with Adam. In so doing they sinned against God, and sin entered the entire world. This has been our legacy for thousands of years, the bondage of sin bringing physical and spiritual death to all humans, a hopeless situation, unless you consider the saving power of Christ.

Speaking of Christ, the Eternal One, here is what he has to say about the run up to WWIII:
